Part D Resources

MD Care Healthplan covers both brand name drugs and generic drugs. Generic drugs have the same active-ingredient formula as a brand name drug. Generic drugs usually cost less than brand name drugs and are rated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be as safe and effective as brand name drugs.

If you get extra help from Medicare to help pay for your Medicare prescription drug plan costs, copays and co-insurance may vary based on the level of Extra help that you may receive. Please contact the plan for more details.

MD Care Health Plan premium includes coverage for both medical services and prescription drug coverage.

If you aren’t getting extra help, you can see if you qualify by calling:

• 1-800-Medicare of TTY/TDD users call 1-877-486-2048 (24 hours a day/7 days a week),
• Your State Medicaid Office, or
• The Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213. TTY/TDD users should call 1-800-325-0778 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If you have questions or need help about prescription drugs, call CVS Caremark’s dedicated Member Service number for MD Care members, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For other questions about your membership please contact MD Care Member Service. From October 15th through March 1st, our hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week. From March 2nd through October 14th, our hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Calls to these numbers are free.

MDCare, Inc. has contracted with CVS/Caremark, a pharmacy benefits administrator, to provide you with access to a broad pharmacy network, well balanced discounts and benefit administration. MDCare, Inc. is an approved Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plan (MAPD).

The number of Pharmacies in our network are extensive. Those pharmacies consist of: Chain Pharmacies, Mail Order Pharmacies, Retail Pharmacies (Los Angeles County), Retail Pharmacies (Orange County), Retail Pharmacies (Riverside County), Retail Pharmacies (San Bernardino County), Home Infusion, and Long Term Care Pharmacies.

Can the list of network pharmacies change?
Yes, MD Care Healthplan may add or remove pharmacies from our pharmacy directory. To get current information about MD Care Healthplan’s network pharmacies in your area, please call Member Service Department at 1 (888) 285-9676, TTY/TDD users should call 1 (800) 735-2929. Our hours of operation are 8AM to 8PM 7 days a week October 15th through March 1st, and 8AM to 8PM Monday through Friday after March 1st.
